Troy Garrett is in his 19th season as the athletic trainer with UNI Athletics in 2024-25, where he oversees training services for UNI soccer.
In his first two seasons at UNI, he worked with the Panther cross country and track & field squads. Garrett also has worked with UNI's wrestling team during his time in Cedar Falls.
Prior to coming to UNI, Garrett worked as an athletic trainer at Southeastern Oklahoma State (Durant, Okla.) from 1998-2000, at Truman State from 2000-2004 and at Wilmington College (Wilmington, Ohio) from 2005-2007. He also worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, from 2004-2005. Garrett earned his bachelor's degree in 1995 from Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo. He also garnered his master's degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1998.
In December of 2016, Garrett earned a Doctorate of Education (EdD) in Rehabilitative Studies.
In his spare time, Garrett enjoys biking the Cedar Valley trails.
He and his wife, Jennifer, have two daughters, Marissa and Delaney.
