Fall 2021
Played in four games, and starting two … went 23-for-41 for 237 yards in passing with one touchdown and two interceptions.
SPRING 2021
Started and played in five games... threw for 938 yards on 72-141 passing (51.1%)... threw just two interceptions all season... Rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns on the year... went 10-22 for 254 yards against Southern Illinois... Threw for a touchdown and ran for another against South Dakota State... Rushed for a score against Illinois State.
Totalled 2,778 passing yards for the season and 20 touchdown passes… Set the UNI freshman passing record...He was named to the 2019 All-Newcomer Team, MVFC Honorable Mention All Conference, and was awarded The Phil Steele Freshman All-American Third Team...His most versatile game of the season was against Weber State where he recorded 219 passing yards, 105 rushing yards and two touchdown passes... Twice earned MVFC Newcomer of the Week honors.

Three-time All-District at Lincoln High School… Also claimed All-State with the Rails… Owns every passing record at Lincoln HS… First player to record over 2,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing in Iowa 4A state history… Over his high school career, earned 2,331 passing yards, while throwing for 30 touchdowns… Also racked up 1,007 yards on the ground and eight scores… Averaged 270 passing yards, 115 rushing yards and 4.5 touchdowns a game at Lincoln HS… Led the state in total offense as a senior… Earned team captain honors three-straight seasons… Played at quarterback, free safety and punter for the Rails.

Born on Sept. 8, 1999 as William McElvain in Des Moines, Iowa… Son of Alica and Vaughn McElvain… Has one sibling, Alex (23)… Also lettered in basketball at Lincoln HS… Volunteered at the Special Olympics in Des Moines… Chose UNI because it felt like home.
