Trey Campbell signs NBA Summer League deal with Timberwolves

2026 MVC Tournament MVP set to make Summer League debut on July 9 in Las Vegas.
MINNEAPOLIS --- Former UNI men's basketball guard Trey Campbell has signed an NBA Summer League contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves, as announced by the franchise on Sunday.
The Cedar Falls native, who played four seasons for the Panthers from 2022 to 2026, is among 15 players set to play in the NBA Summer League this month in Las Vegas.
Campbell averaged 10.4 points per game and shot 43% from the field in his four-year college career at Northern Iowa, notably becoming the first player in program history to record 1,000 career points, 500 rebounds and 300 assists. A two-time All-Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) performer, he earned Second Team All-MVC honors this past season after averaging a career-best 13.7 points to help UNI to the 2026 Arch Madness championship and reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a decade with tournament MVP honors.
Campbell appeared in 132 career games for the Panthers, third-most in team history and most among active MVC players last season. He finished his Northern Iowa career ranked 11th in school history in points (1,403), third in steals (174), fourth in three-point field goals made (220), fifth in career three-point attempts (584), ninth in career field goal attempts (1,161) and seventh in single-season assists (136).
