UNI men’s basketball: Six earn NABC Academic Awards for 2025-26 season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) on Wednesday announced its annual Team Academic Excellence Award and Honor Court recipients for the 2025-26 season, featuring six individual members of the UNI men's basketball team.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2025-26 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Members of the UNI men's basketball roster from the 2025-26 season to receive Honor Court recognition include Ben Schwieger, Chase Courbat, Hunter Jacobson, Ismaël Diouf, Kyle Pock and Tristan Smith.
Northern Iowa as a team recorded a 3.43 GPA last season, marking the 13th consecutive year the Panthers have collectively notched a 3.00 average or higher.
