Trey Campbell named to Blue Ribbon Yearbook Preseason All-MVC Team

Panthers picked second in preseason poll by Chris Dortch’s annual college basketball yearbook.
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- UNI men's basketball guard Trey Campbell has been named to the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook's Preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), as announced by the league office.
The publication, compiled by sports writer Chris Dotch, also picked the Panthers to finish second out of 11 teams in the MVC standings for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
Campbell, who enters his senior season this coming winter, earned Third Team All-MVC honors last year after averaging 11.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.5 blocks per game in 2024-25, leading the Panthers in both assists and steals. Starting all 33 games for Northern Iowa a year ago, Campbell shot 41.5% from the field and also led UNI in three-point shooting (42.9%) and shot 80.9% from the free throw line. He notably earned MVC Player of the Week honors on Jan. 13 after scoring a career-high 30 points with eight made three pointers in a road win at Illinois State.
The Panthers themselves are coming off a 20-13 season last year, finishing third in the MVC standings with a 14-6 league record, as well as an appearance in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). UNI is scheduled to open the 2025-26 season with a Nov. 1 exhibition against Upper Iowa before its regular season opener on Nov. 6 vs. Cal State Northridge.
