CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI soccer team on Wednesday announced the addition of Bo McMahon to the Panther coaching staff for the 2025 season.
McMahon, who joins interim head coach Alex Place Thomas and assistant coach Derek Kresbach this fall, will assist Place Thomas in the day-to-day operations of the UNI program and the development of Panther student-athletes, with focus on the development of UNI's goalkeepers.
Bo's background as a student athlete and coach will make him a valuable addition to our program, Place Thomas said. His expertise in goal keeper training will be a perfect fit for our staff.
McMahon, a Denver, Iowa native, comes to UNI following a three-year playing career at Wartburg, where he appeared in nine career matches as a goalkeeper with a 1.33 goals allowed average. He also spent his freshman season in 2018 as a member of the Knights' football team as a linebacker.
In addition to his experience in soccer, McMahon also coaches basketball at Denver Middle School and works as an Estimator and Project Manager for the Schumacher Elevator Company in Denver. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration and economics from Wartburg in 2022.
The Panthers are scheduled to kick off the 2025 regular season on Thursday, Aug. 14 at South Dakota, a match that can be viewed live on the Summit League Network/Midco Sports Plus.
