UNI men’s basketball: Anderson signs with Pelicans for 2025 NBA Summer League

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Former UNI men's basketball forward Tytan Anderson has signed an NBA Summer League contract with the New Orleans Pelicans, as announced by the Pelicans organization on Sunday.
New Orleans is scheduled to begin NBA Summer League play on July 10, with scheduled games running through July 20 in Las Vegas against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trailblazers and Oklahoma City Thunder. The Pelicans full Summer League schedule is listed below.
The Eldridge, Iowa native earned First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) recognition in 2024-25, along with MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors and an MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team selection after posting a team-high 15.5 points per game average. Leading the Panthers with 6.5 rebounds and 57.7% shooting from the field, he also led UNI with 18 total blocks. Anderson notably was also the 2023 MVC Most Improved Team Captain and a two-time MVC Honor Roll recipient, while also the leading the league this past season in made free throws and free throw attempts.
Anderson was named the MVC Player of the Week on Dec. 30, 2024 and notably scored a career-high 27 points at both Valparaiso and Belmont last season. He notched six games with 20+ points this year and scored in double-digit figures in all but four contests, and notably scored at least one point in his last 97 games dating back to the 2022-23 season.
