PEORIA, Ill. — Just one day after a tough 6-1 loss to Illinois State, the UNI women's tennis team bounced back with a decisive 5-2 victory over Bradley on Sunday afternoon, showcasing strong performances across both singles and doubles play.

The Panthers set the tone early by sweeping the doubles competition to claim the first point of the match. Darta Dalecka and Lorena Cardoso earned a 6-3 win at the number one position, while Kim Zizek and Andjela Raznatovic sealed the doubles point with a 6-4 victory. With Bradley unable to field a number three doubles team, UNI entered singles play going 3-0 in doubles and securing the team point.

In singles action, Dalecka led the way for the Panthers with a hard-fought three-set victory, defeating Anna Belogliadova 6-1, 4-6, 6-3. Raznatovic and Abbie Peterson delivered dominant straight-set wins, with Raznarovic cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 win and Peterson dominating her opponent 6-1, 6-0. Lasya Mylavarapu secured the final point for UNI by winning via default at the number six spot.

Bradley picked up two singles wins, with Mariia Pukhina defeating Cardoso in a closely contested match, 6-2, 7-6, and Ruby Tseng beating Zizek 6-2, 6-4. However, the Panthers' early success in doubles and strong singles performances ensured the overall team victory.

UNI improves to 4-12 on the season and will look to continue its strong play as conference competition continues.

The Panthers will return home next weekend for competition on Saturday, April 5 against UIC and Sunday, April 6 against Valparaiso.
