Panther volleyball: Four selected to MVC Scholar-Athlete Team

ST. LOUIS --- The Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) on Tuesday morning announced its scholar-athlete teams for the 2025 volleyball season with four members of the UNI roster earning academic recognition.

Reese Booth, Lily Dykstra, Cassidy Hartman and Taryn Rice were all selected to this year's 48-person team. Valparaiso's Emma Hickey was named this year's MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

The nominating stands for the MVC Scholar-Athlete Teams mirror that of College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly known as CoSIDA. Nominated student-athletes must have participated in 75 percent or started 50% of the team's matches this season, and boast at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average as a sophomore of both academic and athletic standing.

Hartman, the MVC's Player of the Year, along with Dykstra, were both selected as First Team All-MVC selections in helping the Panthers win a fourth straight MVC regular season and tournament title, as well as the program's 27th NCAA Tournament berth. Booth led Northern Iowa with 6.22 assists per set, plus 22 service aces, while Rice dished out 17 aces and 78 total digs.
