CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI left guard Blake Anderson has been named the Missouri Valley Football Conference's (MVFC) Offensive Lineman of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
The first weekly honor of his career, Anderson's blocking helped the Panther running game record the fourth-most total rushing yards in the last 15 seasons and the first 300+ rushing yard game since 2016.
Anderson's blocking paved the way for running back Tye Edwards to rush for the first multi-touchdown game of his career including his longest rush as a Panther, a 54-yard touchdown run through a gap that was created with the help of Blake Anderson.
Anderson and the Panthers return to action on Saturday, September 7 as they take on the St. Thomas Tommies in St. Paul, Minnesota. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. CT.
