Main Street Madness set for September 26 in downtown Cedar Falls

Third edition of basketball preseason event returns as Panther players and coaches prepare for upcoming season.
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- Basketball madness will make its way to the streets of downtown Cedar Falls once again as UNI's third annual Main Street Madness takes place on Thursday, Sept. 26.
The free event is a one-of-a-kind fan experience in downtown Cedar Falls and is sponsored by First Bank, with additional support from Pixel Labs and SnapSports of Western Wisconsin & Eastern Iowa.
In partnership with Community Main Street and River Place Plaza, all vehicular traffic will be restricted on East 2nd and State Street near River Place Plaza, allowing fans to freely walk to preview and interact with the 2024-25 UNI men's and women's basketball teams on a court in the middle of downtown Cedar Falls.
Main Street Madness starts at 5:30 p.m. CT with a social hour followed by the basketball teams arriving at 6 p.m. CT. The Panthers will take the court for some skill challenges and public interaction.
Fans will be treated to giveaways, autographs, face painting for kids, and much more. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the event. Fans will get a chance to engage with student-athletes and coaches from both the men's and women's basketball programs.
