
Panther football standouts show off skills at 2024 Pro Day

NFL scouts, UNI fans, and media observe Panther athletes looking to begin professional football careers.
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Representatives of 23 NFL franchises were on hand inside the UNI-Dome on Monday afternoon as UNI football held its annual Pro Day.
Eight Panthers were drilled and measured in front of scouts, media, and fans ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.
An All-MVFC Honorable Mention defensive lineman, Cordarius Bailey 26 reps on the bench press and a vertical of 27 inches. On the field, Bailey finished with an eight-foot broad jump and a shuttle drill of 4.91 seconds.
2023 Hula Bowl and East-West Shrine Bowl participant Khristian Boyd only performed in the bench press and finished with a pro-day high of 38 reps. Boyd was an AP All-American third-teamer and an All-MVFC first-teamer.
Placekicker Matthew Cook only drilled the bench where he finished with 20 reps. Cook was an All-MVFC first-teamer as well as an AP All-American first-teamer.
Theo Day drilled in all but the bench press at pro day. The quarterback finished with a 4.89 40-yard dash time, 35-inch vertical jump, 9-5 broad jump, 4.53 shuttle run, and a 7.29-second three-cone drill.
Defensive back Woo Governor finished the day with 16 reps on the bench press, a 35-inch vertical jump, a 4.49 40 time, a UNI high of 10 feet in the broad jump, and a 4.34 shuttle run. Governor finished the season as an All-MVFC first-teamer.
Caden Houghtelling finished Pro Day with 28 reps on the bench press, a 33 ½ inch vertical, a 9-6 broad jump, and a 5.02 40 time.
The final UNI defensive lineman at pro day, Devin Rice ran the fastest defensive lineman 40 of the day with a 4.91. He also finished with a 31 ½ inch vertical, a 9-4 broad jump, and a five-second shuttle run.
Wide receiver Sam Schnee was the lone Panther receiver at Pro Day. He finished with 17 reps on the bench press, a 4.59 40, a Pro Day-high 36 ½ inch vertical, a 9-8 broad jump, and a Pro-Day quickest 6.9-second three-cone drill.
The 2024 NFL Draft will be held in Detroit on April 25-27.
