Sergio Morancy named MVFC Special Teams Player of the Week

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI wide receiver Sergio Morancy has been named the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) Special Teams Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday morning.
Morancy's first weekly honor of his career, this is the second weekly honor of the year for the Panthers after Blake Anderson was named Offensive Lineman of the Week earlier this season.
After a kickoff return touchdown at Youngstown State, Morancy returned a punt for a touchdown against Indiana State on November 23. Morancy became the first Panther to return a punt for a touchdown since 2016, the first Panther to return a kickoff for a touchdown since 2016, and the first Panther to do both in a single season since 2016. Against the Sycamores, Morancy finished with four total touchdowns including three receiving touchdowns on top of his punt return touchdown. He became the first Panther since 2019 to record three receiving touchdowns in the same game.
