UNI track & field announces 2024-25 indoor competition schedule

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI track and field program on Tuesday announced its schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 indoor season. Official meet start times have yet to be announced.
This year's indoor schedule includes six in-state competitions, including three trips to Iowa City and two to Ames, along with visits to Minnesota State Mankato, Kansas State and Arkansas. Northern Iowa will once again play host to its annual home meet in January with the Jack Jennett Open, and visit Chicago for the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championships in early March.
The Panthers will get their first opportunity to compete Dec. 13-14 in Ames at the ISU Holiday Invite inside the Lied Recreation Athletic Center. Following the holiday break, UNI returns home for the Jack Jennett Open inside the UNI-Dome on Jan. 17. Panther athletes will also compete the following day, Jan. 18 at the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City.
Northern Iowa will round out January with a return trip to Iowa City for the Larry Wieczorek Invitational, Jan. 24-25, and send athletes to both the Mark Schuck Open in Mankato, as well as the DeLoss Dodds Invitational at Kansas State. Both meets are scheduled for Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
UNI returns to Ames on Feb. 8 for the Iowa State Classic and will visit Fayetteville, Arkansas for the Tyson Invitational, Feb. 14-15 at the Randal Tyson Track Center. The Panthers' final meet of indoor regular season will be a third trip to Iowa City for the Iowa Open on Feb. 21.
For a fourth straight year, the MVC Indoor Championships return to the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center at Gately Park in Chicago, co-hosted by UIC and Valparaiso, March 2-3. The NCAA Indoor Championships meanwhile will be held March 14-15 in Virginia Beach, Va.
