CollegeInsider.com ranks UNI men’s basketball seventh in mid-major preseason poll

BOSTON --- CollegeInsider.com on Monday afternoon announced its 2024-25 NCAA Division I preseason rankings for mid-major programs with the UNI men's basketball team coming in ranked seventh.
This marks the first time the Panthers have been ranked by CollegeInsider.com's mid-major top-25 since the 2021-22 season. UNI is joined by Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) rival Bradley in the preseason rankings with the Braves ranked fourth. In addition to Bradley, a pair of non-conference opponents in UC Irvine and Milwaukee are also ranked in the top-25, while MVC opponents Murray State, Drake and Indiana State are receiving votes.
The 2024-25 UNI men's basketball team was notably picked to finish second in the official MVC preseason poll earlier this month with two first-place votes behind Bradley. Senior forward Tytan Anderson was named Preseason First Team All-MVC, while center Jacob Hutson and guard Trey Campbell earned Second Team Preseason All-Conference recognition.
UNI will open the 2024-25 season next Monday, Nov. 4 when it hosts the University of Dubuque. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT inside the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls with live coverage available on ESPN+ and the Panther Sports Radio Network.
