Panther football adds Valparaiso to the 2024 schedule

UNI adds Valparaiso as its first contest of the 2024 season.
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI football has added a matchup with the Valparaiso Beacons to their 2024 football schedule, rounding out the Panthers' 12-game slate for the upcoming season.
Northern Iowa and Valparaiso will match up on Saturday, August 31 inside the UNI-Dome in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The addition of the Beacons rounds out the 2024 football schedule, which includes three non-conference contests on the road, including at St. Thomas (Sept. 7), at Nebraska (Sept. 14) and at Hawaii (Sept. 21).
The Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) slate opens with a home matchup against the two-time defending national champion South Dakota State Jackrabbits inside the UNI-Dome on October 5 for Family Weekend. UNI then hits the road for back-to-back road matchups at South Dakota on October 12 and North Dakota on October 19. Missouri State comes to Cedar Falls on October 26 for UNI's annual homecoming game before the Panthers head to Fargo to take on the North Dakota State Bison on November 2.
A home matchup against the Illinois State Redbirds on November 9 is followed by the Panthers' final road matchup of the season at Youngstown State on November 16. Indiana State comes to the UNI-Dome on November 23 for senior day. Kickoff times of all 12 matchups will be announced at a later date.
