CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI women's golf heads south to the Bluegrass State starting Monday morning as the Panthers participate in Murray State's "The Velvet" at the Country Club of Paducah.
This year's two-day tournament will begin with a 36-hole shotgun start beginning at 8:30 am CT on Monday, followed by an 18-hole shotgun on Tuesday at 8:30 am CT. Live results will be made available online through GolfStat.Â
A par-71 course set at 6,076 yards, UNI will be competing in a 12-team field, including four Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) opponents in Belmont, Evansville, Southern Illinois and Murray State. The Panthers are also joined by Bellarmine, Indiana Wesleyan, Northern Kentucky, Southern Indiana, and Tennessee State.Â
The Panthers are coming off of a ninth place team finish at the Redbird Invite last week to open the fall portion of their schedule, with Anna Jensen placing 13th individually after scoring a team-best score of 70 in the first round of play. Jensen also sank ten birdies over the course of the two-day competition and notched 32 pars.
Victoria Hualde took 30th place after shooting a 73 (+2) in the final round, bouncing back from a tough second round score of 78 (+7)Â and finishing with a 225 (+9). Anna Nacos finished with a 229 (+13) in 47th place. Addison Berg placed 65th in her collegiate debut with the Panthers, scoring 78 (+7) in each of her final two rounds for a final score of 235 (+19). Allison Nuss took 69th place, scoring a 77 (+6) in the opening round and finishing with a 236 (+20).
