Panthers to play in Virginia, Kansas City and Chicago in November and December
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- UNI men's basketball has announced five additional games for the 2022-23 schedule, completing the program's 11-game non-conference slate for the upcoming season.
The Panthers will face off against the Richmond Spiders at the Robbins Center on Friday, November 11, marking the third meeting between the two programs as part of a four-year series with the reigning Atlantic-10 Conference Tournament champions.
UNI will visit Charlottesville three days later on November 14 against the Virginia Cavaliers at John Paul Jones Arena. UNI's meeting with the Cavaliers will be only the second all-time matchup between the two-programs, and first since December 2013.
The purple and gold will travel to Missouri prior to the Thanksgiving holiday to compete in the Hall of Fame Classic at the T-Mobile Center in downtown Kansas City. UNI will play a pair of games on November 21 and 22 against a field that includes San Francisco, Wichita State and Grand Canyon. Official matchups and times for the Hall of Fame Classic will be announced at a later date.
The Panthers will also visit the Windy City on December 17 to play in the inaugural Legends of Basketball Chicago Hoops Showcase, taking on Towson at the United Center. This will mark UNI's first ever meeting against Towson, who were crowned co-champions of the Colonial Athletic Conference last season.
Game times for the non-conference schedule, as well as the full 2022-23 Missouri Valley Conference schedule will be released at a later date.
