UNI women's tennis: 3 Panthers named ITA Scholar-Athletes, teams earns honor

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - UNI women's tennis earned ITA's All-Academic Team distinction, and three Panthers were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.Â
Darta Dalecka, Olivia Fain and Issa Sullivan all earned individual honors, and the team recorded a GPA of 3.30 for the academic year. Â
Fain is a recent graduate who is now earning her master's degree in athletic training. In 2019, she combined with current Panther Thaissa Moreira to win flight 3 at the MVC Championships. Fain is the daughter of Michael and Kathryn. She is from Waterloo, Iowa, and a graduate of Columbus Catholic High School.
Dalecka led UNI playing at the No. 1 singles and doubles spot with fellow freshman Lorena Cardoso. She earned MVC Player of the Week honors after a four-match win streak. She earned a spot on the Missouri Valley All-Select Team. Dalecka is from Jaunmarupe, Latvia.
Issa Sullivan earned a spot on the MVC Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention Team last year as a sophomore with a 3.81 GPA. Sullivan is from Shawnee, Kansas. She is majoring in movement and exercise science.Â
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have a grade point average of at least 3.5.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have a grade point average of at least 3.5.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
- have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
- all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
- all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
