CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The Panther Scholarship Club tallied a record night at the 2022 Women at Play event.
The annual event was held Feb. 5 at the Waterloo Center for the Arts and raised $54,080, which was $10,160 more than the $43,820 raised during the previous event in 2020.
"UNI fans show up for women's athletics," said Director of Athletics David Harris. "We appreciate all of our fans who show up to watch our teams compete, but the results from Women at Play show that they also show up with their amazing generosity in support of scholarships. We are very grateful for the support of our female student-athletes and just as excited to see this support translate to success in the fields of play and in the classroom."
All funds raised at the event go to the Pat Allen Women at Play Endowment Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is designated for female student-athletes.
This year's dinner also honored UNI track and field student-athlete and Paralympian Erin Kerkhoff and UNI women's basketball student-athlete Karli Rucker.
