UNI swim and dive named as Scholar All-America Team

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa women's swimming & diving teams have been selected by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America Team. Â
The women posted a GPA of 3.56 to earn the honor. In total, 728 teams from 450 colleges and universities earned the honor. Those with a GPA of 3.3 or higher will now become eligible for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings.
Greg Earhart, CSCAA Executive Director highlighted UNI's achievements noting, "Coach Lakin is one of the mainstays of our sport and here is another reason way. These 32 women are some of the best ambassadors that Northern Iowa and the Missouri Valley could ask for."Â
The Panthers have earned this high honor for nearly five consecutive seasons and continue to have one of the top GPA's in the country. During this school year, 10 student-athletes from the swim and dive team currently hold a 4.0 and amongst other UNI teams, swim and dive ranked third highest GPA with a 3.64.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
