Panther Volleyball go 1-1 in Final Day of GBD Invite

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin – The UNI volleyball team went 1-1 on day 2 of the Green Bay Invite, falling to the Cardinals of Ball State 3-1 and defeating Green Bay 3-1 in the final match of the tournament.
Ball State L, 1-3 (16-25, 25-20, 20-25, 23-25)
The Panthers finished the match hitting .157 with 44 total kills. UNI totaled 40 assists, 33 digs and 27 total blocks.
Kira Fallert led the Panthers in kills, finishing with 15 kills on 28 attack attempts for a .429 hitting percentage. Setter Tayler Alden was second on the team in kills with 9, Alden also added 17 assists, 5 digs and 5 total block.Kaylissa Arndorfer led the Panthers with 7 blocks followed by Carly Spies with 6. Jenna Brandt tallied 18 assists with 6 digs. Payton Ahrenstorff and Tayler Alden each recorded a team high 2 service aces.
Green Bay W, 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-23, 27-25)
The Panthers defeated the Phoenix in 4 hard fought sets. The Panthers recorded 48 total kills and a .172 team hitting percentage. Inga Rotto and Kira Fallert led the Panthers with 11 kills on the night with Rotto recording a match high .556 hitting percentage.
Jenna Brandt led the way with 25 of UNI's 43 assists. Brandt also added 4 digs and 2 aces. Tayler Alden finished with 15 assists while finishing with another well rounded stats line with 4 digs, 3 kills and 2 blocks. Kaylee Donner recorded 17 of the Panther's 52 digs. Emily Holterhaus was second on the team with 13 digs while adding 6 kills and 3 aces.

The Panthers will be back in action on Friday, September 3 when they open the Kentucky Tournament with the University of Southern California at 9:30 am. The Panthers will play Kentucky on Friday night at 6:30 pm and finish the tournament on Saturday at 4 pm.
