
UNI's Jessica Heims Set for Second Paralympics

Tokyo, Japan - 2021 UNI graduate Jessica Heims is set to compete in the F64 discus prelims on August 28th, in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics Games. Heims' seed mark going into the games set is 34.14m with her best being 34.40m this season. Heims' continues to hold her title as the world record holder in the F64 classification with her throw in 2019 of 35.52m.Â
The Swisher native has been active in bringing fans a personal experience through her Tik Tok (@jessie_heims)Â and Instagram accounts(@jessie_heims). Heims' continues her activism and education of Para-athletics through these social media platforms.Â
This is Heims' second appearance in the Paralympics with her first being in Rio in 2016. Heim's finished 8th in Rio behind three athletes returning to the 2020 paralympics from around the world.Â
Live streams can be found on NBC and NBC.com at 7:30pm CST. Top 8 throwers proceed to the finals following the initial competition. The Paralympics will be appearing on NBC from August 24th-September 5th.Â
