Bermel, Eaton Named MVC First Team Scholar Athletes

ST. LOUIS – UNI's Hannah Bermel and Sydney Eaton have been named MVC First Team Scholar Athletes as announced by the conference office on Thursday morning. Both Bermel and Eaton receive their third First Team Scholar Athlete honor.

Senior Hannah Bermel was previously named a First Team Scholar Athlete in 2019 and in 2020. With a 3.95 cumulative GPA, Bemel has is numerous academic awards including being a recipient of the 2019 and 2018 Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award, 2019 MVC Honor Roll.

Bermel recorded a 77.4 stroke average in 14 rounds this spring while finishing with 8 rounds in the 70s. She won the Indiana State Invite (71-72—143) and finished 3rd at the Stampede at the Creek where she carded a season low 70 in the second round.
Hannah

Like Bermel, senior Sydney Eaton was named a First Team Scholar Athlete in 2019 and in 2020. Eaton has been named as a recipient of the 2019 and 2018 Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award and was a member of the 2018 MVC Honor Roll with a 3.68 cumulative GPA in Biology. Eaton recorded a 77.6 stroke average in 14 rounds with 6 rounds in the 70s. Eaton won the UNI Spring Invite, shooting 74-73-75 in three rounds.
