
Panthers Close Out Regular Season Against Missouri State

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI women's tennis team is set to close out the regular season with a home match against Missouri State on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the UNI Tennis Complex in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Panthers will be honoring seniors Morganne Borsh, Valentina Caro, Madeline Doherty, and Harri Proudfoot at 12:45 p.m. prior to the match.
The Panthers suffered 7-0 setbacks to Illinois State and Bradley while on the road last weekend.
Last Time Against Missouri State
UNI last met Missouri State on April 6, 2019, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, falling to the Bears, 6-1. The Purple and Gold's point came from doubles action, where Reghan Lynch/Claudia Toledo and Proudfoot/Caro notched 6-2 wins on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts.
Scouting Missouri State
Missouri State is 8-9 (2-1 MVC) and has recorded 4-3 edge-outs of Omaha, Kansas City, and Louisiana Tech. The Bears have also notched 5-2 victories over Saint Louis, Southwest Baptist, Bradley, and Valparaiso.
Freshman Tiffani Nash boasts a 12-3 (3-0 MVC) record, primarily splitting her time between the No. 3 and No. 4 singles courts. Seniors Ellie Burger and Claire Martin both boast 9-5 (2-1 MVC) singles records. In doubles action, graduate-student Hana Sisirak/sophomore Alyson Piskulic are 6-5 (1-2 MVC) on the No. 2 court, while junior Mara Presot/freshman Mary Houston are 6-3 (2-1 MVC) on the No. 3 court.
Last season Missouri State went 4-7 (0-0 MVC). The Bears kicked off dual match play with a 4-3 victory over North Dakota on Jan. 24. Snapping a three-match drought, MSU posted a 5-2 win over South Dakota on Feb. 9 and edged past Saint Louis, 4-3, on Feb. 28. The Bears' season ended with a 6-1 victory over Kansas City on Mar. 8.
