UNI Volleyball Takes on Drake in MVC Quarterfinal

ST. LOUIS - The 2020-21Â Missouri Valley Conference Volleyball Championship field is set as all tournament seeds came down to Sunday's final matches of the regular season. The UNI volleyball team will enter the MVC Championships as the 7 seed, taking on 2 seed Drake at 5 pm on Thursday, April 1. The Panthers went 0-2 against the Bulldogs in the regular season, falling 1-3 both matches.Â

Illinois State (11-3 MVC) won the MVC regular-season championship with a 3-0 sweep of Southern Illinois Sunday, as the Redbirds claimed the No. 1 seed for next week's championship. The title was Illinois State's 10th regular season championship. Â
The Missouri Valley Conference Volleyball Championship will get underway when No. 1 Illinois State takes on No. 8 Indiana State in the tournament opener on Thursday, Apr. 1, at 11 AM, followed by No. 4 Bradley vs. No. 5 Valparaiso at 2 PM. No. 2 Drake will face No. 7 UNI at 5 PM and No. 3 Missouri State will tangle with No. 6 Loyola Chicago at 8 PM in the final quarterfinal.
On Friday, the first semifinal will begin at 2 PM with the second semifinal beginning at 5 PM.
Semifinal winners will face off for the Missouri Valley Conference automatic berth into the NCAA Volleyball Championship on Saturday, Apr. 3Â at 5 PM CT.
All seven matches of the 2020-21 MVC Volleyball Championship, including four quarterfinals on Thursday, two semifinals on Friday and the championship match on Saturday, will be available for fans on The Valley on ESPN (ESPN+). Greg Halbleib (play-by-play) and Linda Dollar (analyst) will call the matches live from Redbird Arena.
