Panthers Sweep Aces on the Road

EVANSVILLE, Indiana - The Panther Volleyball team defeated Evansville 3-0 on the road on Monday night, with the set scores of 25-23, 25-14, 25-19.Â

The Panthers and Aces battled in the first set, trading early leads. Evansville led late in the set with the Panthers tying the set at 23-23, UNI made the final push to take the opening frame 25-23. The Panthers ran away with the second set, finishing with 10 kills, 3 block and 3 aces. UNI was able to hit .378 in the third set, while recording a match high 18 kills for the three-set sweep.Â

The Panthers recorded a .287 team hitting percentage while hitting .278 in the first set and .378 in the third set. The Aces were held to a .112 hitting percentage overall as a team. The Panther offense also dominated in kills recording 42 on the night, while Evansville was held to just 29. The Panthers also recorded 44 digs and 10 total block assists.Â

Emily Holterhaus recorded a season high 19 kills while hitting .425%. Holterhaus also contributed five digs and one block. Yagmur Cincel finished the night with 8 kills and 2 blocks. Kalyee Donner also chipped in, leading the team with 11 digs on the night. Carly Spies and Inga Rotto led the Panthers in blocking each recording 3 total blocks. Tayler Alden recorded 29 assists, while also adding 2 kills.Â
