ST. LOUIS – Outside hitter Kira Fallert was selected as the Missouri Valley Conference's Freshman of the Week. This is Fallert's first MVC award, and she is the first Freshman of the Week honoree for the UNI Panther volleyball team this season.
Fallert averaged 3.70 kills per set with .312 hitting and 1.80 digs per set last week featuring a record-setting performance at Evansville. She had a career-high 25 kills and hit .524 Saturday for the highest termination total by any UNI freshman in the 25-point rally-scoring era. One night earlier, Fallert secured her third collegiate double-double with 12 kills and 13 digs Friday at Indiana State.
UNI returns to action this weekend for a two-match homestand with Valparaiso and Loyola to end the regular season. First serve will be at 6 pm for both Friday's tilt against the Beacons and Saturday's contest versus the Ramblers.
