
Panther Soccer to host Southern Illinois on Saturday

Saturday, October 23rd - Cedar Falls, Iowa
UNI vs. Southern Illinois - 1 p.m.
THE PANTHERS:Â
- The Panthers got their first road win of the season on Wednesday against Missouri State. UNI's 2-0 win over the Bears was their first road win since March 21st against Southern Illinois.
- Last week was the second time this season the Panthers put together two clean sheets in a row. Senior goalkeeper Chloe Russo made 12 saves to help the Panthers to two shutouts. UNI also had two shutouts in a row earlier in the season against St. Thomas and Viterbo.
- Senior goalkeeper Chloe Russo had her best match in goal of the year Sunday against Valparaiso. Along with picking up her second shutout of the week, Russo had season highs on Sunday in shots faced, saves made, and minutes played in the Panthers 0-0 draw with Valpo.
- The Panthers look to close out their first season at the UNI Soccer Field strong with a win against Southern Illinois on Saturday. So far at home the Panthers are at .500 with a 4-4-0 record.
THE SALUKIS:Â
- Saturday will be the Saluki's last match on the road before the close out the season at home at the Lew Hartzog Complex.
- This is only the Saluki's second game against the Panthers as Southern Illinois women's soccer did not compete in a conference for it's inaugural season in 2019.Â
- Leading the way offensively for the Saluki's is freshman midfielder Ashley Scesniak, who has 1 goal, 14 shots, and 7 shots on goal through her first season.
- The Saluki's main goalkeeper Maddy Alaluf has started 12 games with over 1100 minutes played.Â
