ST. LOUIS – The UNI women's swim & dive team have been selected 5^th in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll as voted on by the league's eight head coaches.

The Panthers return three athletes who have earned All-MVC honors in Sarah Walpole, Mia Savicevic and Anna Penning. Following the 2020 MVC Championships Penning was named Freshman Diver of the Year.

The Missouri State Bears have been unanimously selected as the league's favorite, finishing with 64 points with all 8 first-place votes. The Salukis of Southern Illinois was selected to finish 2^nd with 52 points while Indiana State came in 3^rd with 47 points.

Illinois State received 40 points in the poll to finish in 4^th followed by UNI. Little Rook received 21 points in 6^th and Evansville received 18 points and Valparaiso finished with 10.

The UNI swim & dive team will open the 2021 spring season on Saturday, January 30 when they host the Cyclones of Iowa State in the Glen F. Henry pool.
