CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI volleyball team fell in four sets to in-state rival Drake on Friday night with set scores of 19-25, 19-25, 25-11, and 19-15.

The Panthers and Bulldogs kept the opening set close, tying the match 6 times with 2 lead changes. The Panthers struggled on the attack, finishing with 10 attack errors and hitting .061 in the opening frame. The second set was more of the same, seeing 7 set ties and 4 lead changes.

Trailing 0-2 entering the third set the Panthers went out to an early 11-2 lead and finished with a 25-11 set victory. The most efficient set of the night, the Panthers recorded 15 kills with just 2 attack errors for a .419 hitting percentage. Setter Tayler Alden finished with a match high 11 assists in the third set. The Panthers fell in the fourth set with the Bulldogs dominating the middle of the set.

THE PANTHERS

Emily Holterhaus finished with a team high 16 kills, followed by Carly Spies with 12.
Freshman setter Tayler Alden recorded 38 assists on the night.
Junior Baylee Petersen finished with 38 digs while Sarah Konovodoff finished with 20 digs
The Panthers hit .172 with 51 assists and 73 digs

THE BULLDOGS

Haley Bush recorded a team high 15 kills followed by Emily Plock with 11.
Caitlyn Smith finished with 31 assists.
