CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI volleyball team has added 6'0 outside hitter Yagmur Cinel to the 2020 roster. Cinel comes to Cedar Falls from Izmir, Turkey where she competed for the Izmir Buyuksehir Sports Club.
"We are very excited to add Yagmur to our 2020 recruiting class," said head coach Bobbi Petersen. "Yagmur rounds out an already strong class of athletic and competitive student athletes, who will not only add value to the court, but also to the culture of our program. Yagmur comes in as a student athlete who has the potential to play six rotations for our program. She is athletic, loves to compete and has a lot of experience on the court. She has a very natural platform contributing to her solid ball control, defense and potential to be a primary passer. Offensively, she is an explosive and smart attacker and has a developed arsenal that we look forward to adding to throughout her years as a Panther. She has a good feel for the game which will help contribute to her success as a college competitor."
Yagmur is the daughter of Afra and Teoman Koray Cinel. Yagmur has a younger sister, Nehir, who is 14 years old.
