UNI Women's Tennis Falls to Milwaukee 4-3

WATERLOO, Iowa – It came down to the final match, but the UNI tennis team fell to UW Milwaukee 4-3 Sunday afternoon at the Blackhawk Tennis Club in Waterloo.

The final point was determined by the last singles match in which UNI fell resulting in a 4-3 win for UW.

In doubles action, all three UNI doubles teams fell in their competition. Kim Zizek and Valentina Caro fell in a close battle against UWM's Mayya Pervoa and Anika Tylek 6-4, giving Milwaukee a 1-0 lead.

In singles action, Zizek topped Nicole Clarke 6-2, 6-4. Thaissa Moreira swept Anna Daniels Fuentes 6-1, 6-3 and Caro defeated Lucy Harper 6-3, 6-0. While Harri Proudfoot fell to Pervoa 6-1, 6-4. Madeline Doherty was defeated by Daniels 6-2, 6-2 to tie the match at 3-3.

In the final singles match Emma Carr battled to the final point but fell to UW Clarke 6-4, 7-5 to give Milwaukee the win.

UNI falls to 2-7 on the season while UW Milwaukee is 5-4.
