THE PANTHERS
- UNI is coming off a 0-3 start to the season, falling to Western Kentucky, Saint Mary's and Utah State.
- Three point shooting has been a strong hold for the Panthers, making 13.7 three pointers per game and shooting 44.6% collectively from beyond the three point arch to start the season.
- Sophomore Noah Carter downed 9 threes against Western Kentucky, setting a new single game record for the Panthers. UNI made 20 threes against Western Kentucky, tying a school record and ranking 3rd in the MVC record book. Â Â
- Freshman Bowen Born has played 25.5 minutes per game to start his career. The former Iowa Mr. Basketball averaged 14.4 points per game while shooting 44.1 from the field and 47.6% from three point range.
THE FIGHTING BEES
- John Kerr needs 6 points to pass Dave Thomason to move into 20th place on SAU's all-time scoring list. Kerr enters Friday's game with 1,326 career points. He needs 293 more points this season to climb into the school's top 10 for career scoring.
- Michael Williams needs 167 points and Warren Allen needs 187 points to join the school's 1000-point club.
- John Kerr and Michael Williams formed a 1-2 scoring punch for the Bees in 2019-20. Kerr averaged a team-best 15.3 points per game and Williams was right behind at 15.0 points per contest.
- St. Ambrose first-year assistant coach Murphy Carter played for both UNI and SAU. He appeared in 3 games for the Panthers in 1998-99 before transferring to St. Ambrose for his senior season. He averaged 7.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists in helping the 1999-2000 Bees to a 26-9 record and an appearance in the NAIA National Tournament.
- Ray Shovlain is in his 38th season as head coach at St. Ambrose. A six-time conference coach of the year, Coach Ray has compiled a 674-512 career record. His 674 wins are sixth-most among active NAIA coaches and 24th on the all-time NAIA list.
