Panthers Defeat Austin Peay 3-1

COLUMBIA, Missouri – The UNI volleyball team wrapped up the Missou Invitation on Sunday morning, defeating Austin Peay (Result) (25-20, 25-15, 18-25, 25-22).
The Panthers finished the Missouri Invitation with a 2-2 record, falling to Missouri (1-3), and Boise State (0-3) while defeating Kansas City (3-1) and Austin Peay (3-1).
After rolling the Governors in the first two sets the Panthers stalled in the third. Avoiding the sweep the Governors forced the fourth set where there was 8 lead changes and match was tied 18 times. The Panthers pulled ahead at the very end of the match and closed out the match with a Kaylissa Arndorfer kill and moved the team to a 4-7 record.
Karlie Taylor led the Panthers in kills and attempts against on Sunday, finishing with 17 kills on 39 attacks for a .231 hitting percentage. The senior outside hitter also recorded 9 digs and 2 blocks.
Freshman Emily Holterhaus finished with a season-high 13 kills with just two errors for a .355 hitting percentage. Fellow freshman Kaylissa Arndorfer added 12 kills while tallying 5 total blocks.
Inga Rotto finished with a team-high 7 blocks on Sunday. Rotto's 7 blocks is the most a Panther has recorded all season.
Rachel Koop finished with 46 assists in the four-set match while also finishing with 12 digs for yet another double-double. Libero Baylee Petersen led the team with 16 digs and three service aces.

The Panthers will be off for a few days until the team packs up and travels to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to participate in the Marquette Invitational. The Panthers are scheduled to take on Saint Louis, Green Bay and Marquette, playing Saint Louis on Friday at 4 p.m. and taking on both Green Bay and Marquette on Saturday at 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. respectively.
