CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - UNI women's basketball has added Fresno State grad transfer Kristina Cavey to the roster for the 2019-20 season, head coach Tanya Warren announced today.Â
Cavey started 19 games for the Bulldogs last season and averaged 5.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. She shot 38.8% from the field and was 87.9 percent from the line. She did not miss a free throw during her final 15 games.Â
She will be eligible to play immediately.Â
"We are thrilled to add Kristina to our Panther family," Warren said. "She will give us even more depth on the perimeter. Her three years of experience at the Division I level will prove to be very valuable next season."
She has 88 games under her belt for her career and has a total of 548 career points.Â
Cavey is native of Berthoud, Colorado, where she was named the Berthound High School Female Athlete of the Year. She averaged 26.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.6 steals per game her senior season. She had the second-highest scoring average of any player in Colorado her senior season.Â
She joins a 2019-20 recruiting class that includes Cailyn Morgan of Iowa City West, Kaitlin Winston from Farmington, Minn., and Sara McCullough from Ankeny. Â
