THE PANTHERS

THE SALUKIS

• The Salukis finished the regular season at 17-14 with a 10-8 record in the MVC.

• Southern Illinois defeated the Panthers in both contests this season, winning 58-51 in the McLeod Center on Jan 5 and winning 70-62 in Carbondale on Jan 23.

• Southern Illinois enters the MVC Tournament with the #3 seed. The Panthers and Salukis have met in the MVC Tournament 6 times with the Salukis holding the series lead at 4-2.

• The Salukis rank second in the league in scoring offense, scoring 68.1 points per game while surrendering only 66.2 points per game.

• Southern Illinois has the second highest field goal percentage .468 trailing only Loyola's .502.

• The Salukis have two of the top talents in the league in Armon Fletcher and Kavion Pippen.

UNI owns the MVC Tournament record for fewest points allowed in winning a championship. In 2010, UNI gave up 132 points (44.0 ppg) in winning the title with victories over Drake (55-40), Bradley (57-40) and Wichita State (67-52). UNI has three of the top-10 defensive scoring performances in MVC Tournament history. UNI gave up 155 points in 2015 and 166 points in 2016 in claiming MVC Tournament titles.
