- Marshall's championship run in the 2019 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament marked just the second postseason title in program history.
- Taevion Kinsey returns to Marshall for his sophomore season. The Columbus, Ohio, native enters the season as the team's returning leading scorer after averaging 10.5 points per game last season.
- During the 2018-19 campaign, he scored 10 or more points in 20 of his 37 games and was a two-time Conference USA Freshman of the Week honoree. He was also named to the C-USA All-Freshmen Team.
- In the CIT Championship game against Green Bay, Kinsey recorded the first double-double of his career with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
- Jarrod West has been a steals machine since arriving at Marshall. The guard followed up a 57 steal freshman season in 2016-17 with an 80 steal campaign in 2018-19. Those 80 steals set a single-season program record breaking the previous mark of 75 set by Sidney Coles and Jeff Guthrie in 1995-96 and 1984-85, respectively.
- His 166 career steals rank fifth in program history and he is 47 away from breaking the program record of 208 set by Skip Henderson.
- Jannson Williams has 119 career rejections good for ninth-most in program history. The redshirt junior forward sits 63 from Hassan Whiteside's program record of 181 set during the 2009-10 season. His 72 blocks during the 2018-19 campaign were the fourth-most in a season in program history
THE PANTHERS
- The Panthers are receiving votes in the latest AP Top 25 poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll. UNI ranks 28th in the first NET rankings with a 10-1 record.
- The Panthers host The Herd of Marshall University in the McLeod Center, the Panthers are a perfect 6-0 in the McLeod Center in 2019.
- The Panthers lead the MVC in made three-pointers per game, averaging 10.0 made threes per contest.
- Making 53.1% of his three-point field goals, Trae Berhow leads the MVC and ranks 3rd nationally.
- UNI defeated #24 Colorado on the road 79-76. The win marked the first time the Panthers have defeated a ranked team on the road since beating #25 Wichita State on February 13, 2016.
- The Panthers victory over Colorado marked the 9th win over an AP ranked opponent under head coach Ben Jacobson. Ranked wins: Home 4, Away 3, Natural 2.
- Trae Berhow finished with 8 three-pointers against UT Martin, tying the UNI single-game record and breaking the McLeod Center record by 1. He followed it up by going 4-4 from beyond the arc against Cornell.
- AJ Green was named to the Lou Henson Award Preseason Watch List. The Lou Henson Award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I mid-major player.
- The Panthers return four MVC award winners from last year's team.
- AJ Green: All-Freshman, All-Newcomer, Third Team All-MVC, Freshman of the Year.
- Spencer Haldeman: MVC Sixth Man of the Year.
- Isaiah Brown: All-Defensive Team
- Luke McDonnell: Most Improved Team
- The Panthers were selected to finish 3rd in the MVC Preseason Poll.
- Sophomore, AJ Green, was named Preseason First Team All-MVC. The lone Panther to make the preseason list.
- Ben Jacobson enters the season ranked fifth all-time in MVC coaching victories with 276. Jacobson also ranks fifth in the league record book for MVC-only wins with 139 triumphs.
