Panthers Earn AVCA All-Region Recognition

LEXINGTON, Kentucky – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has announced its All-Region selection for the 2019 season. UNI landed Head Coach Bobbi Petersen, senior outside hitter Karlie Taylor, and senior setter Rachel Koop to the AVCA All-Midwest Region Teams.
Head Coach Bobbi Petersen is named the AVCA All-Midwest Region Coach of the Year for the fourth time, earning the award following the 2001 and 2002 seasons and in 2018. Petersen earned here 500th win in 2019 and became the programs all-time wins leader. Petersen is currently tied for most wins in the MVC at 509.
Senior Karlie Taylor earns AVCA All-Midwest Region for the third time. Taylor finished the season with 565 total kills, ranking 2nd all-time for single season kills at UNI. Taylor, the MVC Player of the Year, has recorded three straight season with over 500 kills, and ranks 3rd all-time in career kills with 1,709 and 4th all-time in career points with 1,878.
Senior setter Rachel Koop earns AVCA All-Midwest Region for the second time. Koop finished the 2019 season with 1,458 assists, good enough for 7th in single season assists. Koop has set the Panther offense the last two seasons and ends her career with 2,983 assists, ranking 8th in career assists.
