UNI Football Ranked Sixth in NCAA Committee Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS – UNI Football was ranked sixth in the Division I Football Championship Committee Top Ten released by the championship committee Wednesday on ESPN.

The Panthers are 6-3 on the year and are coming off a dominant 27-10 win over then-ranked No. 7 Illinois State on the road.

UNI's three losses on the year came against Iowa State in triple overtime, against No. 1 North Dakota State and No. 3 Weber State, all on the road.

Three games remain on UNI's schedule, including a trip to No. 4 South Dakota State on Nov. 16.

James Madison comes in at No. 2 in the committee ranking and Sacramento State is ranked fifth. Central Arkansas is ranked seventh, Montana eighth, Furman is ninth and New Hampshire rounds out the top 10.

The committee releases its bracket on Sunday, Nov. 24. The top eight seeds in the bracket receive a first-round bye in the FCS playoffs.

The Panthers host Indiana State Saturday at 4 p.m. at the UNI-Dome.
