IOWA CITY, Iowa - The UNI swim and dive team opened up competition Friday morning in Iowa City. The Panthers took on two Big Ten teams in the Iowa Hawkeyes and Michigan State Spartans.

The Hawkeyes and Spartans both took home wins over the Panthers. The final team scores were Iowa 183 to UNI 113 and Michigan State 180 to UNI 120. Iowa beat Michigan State by a score of 183 to 113 as well.

Katie Taylor brought home three individual wins for the Panthers, winning the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 55.87, 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:59.8, and the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:04.45. Moriah Ross also pick up a first place 2:18.77 finish in the 200 Yard Backstroke.

The Panthers next meet is Saturday, October 12th versus Nebraska from Glen F. Henry Swimming & Diving Pool in Cedar Falls.
