Panther Soccer Prepares for a Two Game Week

UNI vs Drake - 7 p.m.
Saturday, October 19, 2019 - Springfield, Missouri (Betty and Bobby Allison North Stadium)
UNI vs Missouri State - 1 p.m.
The Panthers begin the week with a matchup against Drake on the road on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. UNI stands at a 5-7 record on the season, and a 1-2 record in conference play. Drake holds a 4-8-1 record in season play, and a 1-2 record in conference play.
The two programs meet for the 18th time in program history, with the Panthers down 3-10-4 against the Bulldogs.
UNI will finish the week in Springfield, Missouri against the Bears. Missouri State holds an 8-3-1 record for the season, and a 2-1 record for conference play.
The Panthers meet the Bears for the 26th time in program history, standing at a 5-20 record.
Panther Game Notes:
•The Panthers defeated Indiana State in overtime with a game winning goal from Kennedy Rieken, her first goal of the season and the first of her colliegate career.
•Freshman Kennedy Rieken was named MVC's Newcomer of the Week after scoring the winning goal against Indiana State.
•UNI women's soccer was awarded the 2018-2019 College Team Academic Award, with a 3.38 GPA in the past academic year.
•Senior forward Sydney Hayden is the Panthers' leading returning scorer and currently is tied for fourth in career goals with 15 after scoring in the season opener against Chicago State, St. Ambrose, and North Dakota State.
• Hayden scored six goals in 2018 which is tied for sixth all-time for single season goals.
• Along with playing soccer, leading scorer Rolli is also an intern with UNI's Athletic Communications department.
• In the MVC, UNI finished third overall in the 2018 season, recording five shutouts.
• Panther Soccer welcomes Jami Reichenberger to the coaching staff after earning MVC All Tournament Team recognition last season.
• UNI returns senior Sydney Hayden, after receiving both an MVC Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention and an All-Conference Honorable Mention last season.
• Jordyn Rolli returns for her senior year after receiving an MVC Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention.
• Top scorers Sydney Hayden (6 goals), Rolli (4 goals), and Jamie Althiser (3 goals) return for their senior years.
• The Panthers received the MVC Fair Play Award in the 2018 season.
