CEDAR FALLS, Iowa—The UNI Panthers tennis squad will open their home slate, as North Dakota visits on Jan. 27 for a 10 a.m. match.
The Panthers saw victories in the No. 2, No. 4, and No. 5 singles matches against Omaha last weekend. Kate Merrick defeated Savanna Crowell (6-2, 6-1) in the No. 5 spot to bring the Panthers within one. Claudia Toledo defeated Janelle Wilson (7-5, 6-3) in the No. 2 singles spot. Daisy Phillips defeated Marie Kapelevich (2-6, 6-3, 6-3) in the No. 4 spot to tie the match at 3 points.
Phillips and Olivia Fain defeated Emily Behling and Rylee Tucker of Omaha, 6-3, in the No. 3 doubles spot, to even the doubles match. Valentina Caro and Harri Proudfoot were defeated, 7-6 (7-5), in the No. 2 spot.
The meet will take place at the Black Hawk Tennis Club in Waterloo.
