VALPARAISO, Indiana – The men's basketball team took on the Crusaders of Valparaiso University in the Athletics-Recreation Center Saturday afternoon. The Panthers fell to the Crusaders 75-66 and dropped to 8-11 overall and 3-3 in the MVC.
The Panthers started slow in the first half, trailing the Crusaders by as many as eleven points. Making four three pointers down the stretch the UNI closed the lead to three. Valparaiso entered halftime leading the Panthers 36-30.
The Panthers were unable to put together runs to start the second half and trailed by double digits just minutes after the break. The Panthers did manage a run late in the game, getting within three points in the final five minutes but the final push would not be enough, falling 75-66.
Freshman AJ Green ended the night with a team high 25 points and hauled in four rebounds. Luke McDonnell added 13 points on the night and led the Panthers in rebounding, hauling in five boards. Trae Berhow ended the night with eight points while Wyatt Lohaus and Isiah Brown each finished with seven points.
