UNI Invited to U.S. Bank Stadium Basketball Classic

Cedar Falls, Iowa – U.S. Bank Stadium is set to host its first-ever basketball event featuring eight teams which will be played Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The University of Northern Iowa will face South Dakota State University Sat., Dec. 1, in the U.S. Bank Stadium Basketball Classic. The last time the Panthers faced the Jackrabbits came in December 2016 in the McLeod Center as UNI scored an 86-58 victory.
The rest of the U.S. Bank Stadium Basketball Classic features University of St. Thomas vs. University of Wisconsin-River Falls (Nov. 30), University of Minnesota vs. Oklahoma State University (Nov. 30) and North Dakota State University vs. Drake University (Dec. 1).
"We are excited to be a part of the U.S. Bank Stadium Basketball Classic," UNI head coach Ben Jacobson said. "It's a tremendous opportunity for our program to play in a unique atmosphere such as the U.S. Bank Stadium. We will also be competing against a terrific opponent which will add to what should be a great weekend."
U.S. Bank Stadium is the home of the Minnesota Vikings and a wide variety of events, including Super Bowl LII and ESPN's Summer X Games. Since opening in July 2016, the stadium has welcomed more than three million visitors, quickly becoming one of the premier stadiums in the world.
Tickets for the U.S. Bank Stadium Basketball Classic go on sale Fri., Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. and are available for two-day or single-day packages. Single-day price starts at $15. A pre-game tailgate party, hosted in the Delta Sky360 Club with food and beverage specials, is available for $35 and begins three hours prior to the first game each day. Tickets for the tailgate party are available to the public for purchase on a first come, first serve basis. All tickets can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com.
Panther Scholarship Club members and men's basketball season ticket holders will have the chance to request tickets through UNI's block. Information will be sent to those members via email once it is released.
