THE PANTHERS
• The Panthers move to 3-5 on the season after dropping a game to South Dakota State at the US Bank Stadium Classic.
• After seven straight road games, the Panthers get back to the McLeod Center and shift their focus to the Spartans of the University of Dubuque. The NCAA Division III program is 4-3 on the season.
 • AJ Green ranks in the top 25 in NCAA free throw percentage. Making 91.3% of his shots from the line, Green leads the conference and sits at 24th nationally.
• As a team, the Panthers rank first in the league in free throw percentage with a 75.7% mark.
• The Panthers are heavy on three-point shooting this season, leading the MVC in three-point field goals (215), and second in made three-pointers (66)
• Sophomore Trae Berhow continues to rebound for the Panthers, with 52 total rebounds this season Berhow ranks 6th in the MVC while his 5.75 defensive rebounds also rank 8th in the league.
• The Panthers have rebounded well as a team, hauling in 289 total boards, third most in the MVC, while the Panthers 27 defensive rebounds per game rank fifth in the league.

SPARTANS
The Spartans of Dubuque are 4-3 to start the season with wins over Greenville College, Edgewood College, St. Scholastica, and #19 Loras College.
The Spartans are averaging 83.1 points per game behind three key players. Avery Butler, Marcus McDaniel and Michael Williams each average over 14 points per game with McDaniel scoring a team-high 16.7 points per game. McDaniel has made 35 of his 75 shots this season including 20 of his 50 three-point attempts. Far from the only lethal shooter on the team, Avery Butler has made 33 of his 42 shots.
The Spartans are led by 11th year Head Coach Robbie Sieverding. During his time at The University of Dubuque, the men's basketball program has made significant improvements in the highly competitive Iowa Conference with two IIAC Tournament titles and one IIAC regular season title.
Coach Sieverding led the 2015-16 team to its first regular season Iowa Conference (IIAC) regular season championship with an 11-3 record. Including 2015-16, Coach Sieverding and the Spartans are the only team to finish Top-3 in the IIAC in the last seven seasons. UD won two Iowa Conference tournament titles and earned NCAA national berths in 2013 and 2015, to go along with a record of 136-55, 70-34 IIAC record. His 70 IIAC victories are the highest in the IIAC over the last seven seasons. The 2016 class left as the winningest class in program history with 84 total wins, including three-straight 21+ win seasons and a school record 23 victories in 2014-15.
During his eleven seasons at the University of Dubuque, Sieverding has coached 22 All-Iowa Conference players (1 back-to-back MVP, 2 Defensive Players of the Year, 13-1st Team, 11-2nd Team, and 5-Honorable Mention). He has also coached the league's top scorer in seven different seasons and the league's top rebounder once.

SHOOTING IT DEEP
The Panthers don't shy away from shooting from distance. With 215 three-point field goals attempted, the Panthers rank second in the MVC and 44th nationally. The Panthers don't just take the shots, they make them. The team has made 66 three-pointers this season, second-most in the league.
Freshman AJ Green leads the Panthers in three-point shooting, with 55 attempts Green ranks second in the MVC and his 17 made threes ranks him sixth.

GIVE ME THAT
Rebounding has been a strength of the Panthers so far this season, hauling in 289 total rebounds this season, third most in the league. The Panthers rank 5th in the MVC with 27 defensive rebounds per game.
Sophomore Trae Berhow leads the team with 5.75 defensive rebounds per game, ranking eighth in the league. Luke McDonnell and brought down 16 offensive rebounds this season, a mark that has him at 7th in the league and 7th in offensive rebounds per game with 2.0.

Collectively the Panthers lead the conference in free throw percentage. With a 75.5 mark, the Panthers also rank 34th nationally. AJ Green tops the conference in efficiency, making 91.3 percent (21-23).
