THE PANTHERS
• The Panthers will look to rebound from their first conference loss of the season this weekend with matches against Missouri State and Southern Illinois.
• The Panthers swept Bradley last Friday night but ran into a determined Illinois State team that gave the Panthers their first conference loss of the season in five sets.
• Piper Thomas moves into No. 4 all-time at UNI in career kills with 1,467, surpassing Kim Kester (1,439).
• UNI currently leads the Valley in hitting percentage (.268), kills (818), kills per set (15.43), assists (773) and assists per set (14.58).
• Karlie Taylor owns a league-high 4.68 kills per set, Piper Thomas is second in the league with a 3.49 attack percentage while Rachel Koop tops the conference at 11.66 assists per set.
• Within MVC-only action, Karlie Taylor paces all individuals with 4.60 kills per set and leads the league in points per set with 5.10 per set. Piper Thomas leads the league with a .420 hitting percentage.
• Nationally, Karlie Taylor ranks 8th in kills per set.
• Nationally, Rachel Koop ranks 9th in assists per set. Panthers rank 4th in the NCAA in assist per set.
• Karlie Taylor hit a Panther milestone over the weekend, recording her 1,000th career kill, and currently sits at 1007 career kills.
• UNI is ranked 15th nationally in the NCAA's RPI release from November 5. The Panthers are also receiving votes in the AVCA Top 25, receiving 28 votes.
• This is the 29th consecutive season that at least 10 Iowa natives are on the UNI roster including the second year in a row that 14 of the 15 Panthers are from Iowa.
• UNI returns four of seven starters from last year, including Honorable Mention All-America honorees Karlie Taylor and Piper Thomas, MVC All-Freshman pick Jaydlin Seehase and libero Kendyl Sorge.
• The Panthers rank No. 8 all-time in NCAA Division I winning percentage (.773). UNI trails only Penn State (.863), Hawaii (.852), Nebraska (.843), Florida (.833), Stanford (.813), BYU (.778) and UCLA (.774).
• UNI, Hawaii, Nebraska, Stanford, Penn State and UCLA lead the nation with 37 consecutive non-losing seasons in NCAA Division I volleyball. UNI has also posted 33 straight NCAA Division I winning seasons – the fifth-longest active streak in the nation behind Hawaii (37), Nebraska (37), Penn State (37) and Stanford (37).

FIRST MVC LOSS
The Panthers suffered their first conference loss last week, dropping a five set match to Illinois State. The Panthers will take on Missouri State (15-12, 8-6 MVC) and then take on the (5-22, 1-13 MVC) Salukis of Southern Illinois.

MISSOURI STATE BEARS
The Bears currently sit in fifth place within the MVC with an 8-6 conference mark. The Braves have a well-rounded team, ranking 2nd is assist per set with 13.77, third in kills per set and blocks per set and 4th in hitting percentage in the conference. The Bears are a balanced team with MacKenzie Irwin averaging 1.07 blocks per set and Setter Chloe Rear coming in second in the league in assists per set with 12.19. UNI leads the series, 51-26

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS SALUKIS
The Salukis of Southern Illinois sit in last place in the conference with a 5-22 overall record and a 1-13 mark in league play. While Southern Illinois struggles in most statistical categories within the MVC, one strong part of their game is their ability to block. The Salukis rank second in the league with 2.29 blocks per set. The Salukis are led by Lindsey Paulson who leads the team with 1.24 blocks per set, good enough to lead the conference and ranks fifth in attack percentages in the league with a .326 mark. UNI leads the series, 57-13.
