
Two Panthers Named First Team Scholar Athlete

ST. LOUIS, Missouri – The Missouri Valley Conference has announced twelve student athletes as members of the 2018 MVC Scholar-Athlete Team with an additional ten members earning honorable mention honors. UNI landed two student athletes on the list in senior Kendyl Sorge and senior Piper Thomas, each earning First Team honors.
Kendyl Sorge earned 2018 MVC Scholar-Athlete honors with a 3.49 cumulative GPA while majoring in Exercise Science. Sorge finished the regular season 5th all-time in the Missouri Valley Conference with 2,235 career digs.
Piper Thomas has accumulated a 3.46 GPA while majoring in Exercise Science. Piper has had a record breaking career as a Panther, leaving as the career leader in solo blocks with 97 and currently sits 4th in UNI history with 1,518 career kills.
