UNI Volleyball Suffers Second MVC Loss

EVANSVILLE, Indiana -Â The Panthers dropped their second Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) match of the year on Friday, falling to the Purple Aces of Evansville University in five sets.
The Panthers dropped the opening set to the Aces before winning the next two. Headed into the fourth set up 2-1 the Panthers could not get the offense moving and fell 25-22 to force the deciding fifth set. The Panthers trailed the Aces 8-2 at the court swap and fell 15-9.
Karlie Taylor finished the night with 34 kills, 23 digs, and two block assists. Senior Piper Thomas finished with 18 kills and a .311 attack percentage while Jaydlin Seehase ended with 10 kills.
Four Panthers ended the night with double digit digs in Karlie Taylor (23), Kendyl Sorge (21), Abby Staack (12), and Baylee Petersen (12).
Rachel Koop ended the night with 59 assists while Kate Busswitz finished with eight kills and recorded a team high four block assists.
Up Next
The Panthers will now travel to Terre Haute, Indiana for a 6 pm match with the Sycamores of Indiana State. The Sycamores are currently 10-19 and 3-14 in the MVC. The Panthers defeated the Sycamores 3-0 back in September in the McLeod Center. Saturday's match can be viewed on ESPN+.Â
