Dunne Named MVFC Offensive Player of the Week

ST. LOUIS – UNI senior quarterback Eli Dunne led the Panthers to a 42-28 road win over No. 24 South Dakota Saturday and was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance.
Dunne went 23-32 for 253 yards and four touchdowns and scored another touchdown on a one-yard run. He had completions to eight different receivers, and all caught multiple passes. Dunne's four touchdowns are a season high and the most since the win over Monmouth in the playoffs last season.
Over the last two games, Dunne is 51-74 (68.9 percent) for seven passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown with just one interception.
Dunne leads the Missouri Valley Conference in completion percentage (68.4 percent) and touchdown passes (seven) in conference games.
The Panthers are 3-3 on the season and 2-1 in Valley play. South Dakota State comes to town for a homecoming showdown Saturday at 4 p.m. in the UNI-Dome. Tickets are available online at unipanthers.com/tickets.
